Fine..not all men are assclowns

Most of my post thus far have been filled with assclown dudes and profanity. What can I say…I like to cuss and apparently know alot of assclowns. However, I have had a few men in my life that have proven to be not assclowns but positive, admirable men. Amazing but true!

First–my grandfathers rocked! My grandmothers did as well but this post is for the dudes:) I can’t remember a single birthday bash as a child without my grandparents being there. Family meant alot to my grandpas…both were strong, old school, head of the house kinda guys….both were suckers for their grandkids.

My dads dad was my poppa…I was his favorite (also only but I’m sure that had nothing to do with it) granddaughter. He was a machinest in his own shop.  An old brick shop with big ass wooden doors that I could never open without poppas help.  If I close my eyes right now I can still smell his shop….oil, grease, and burnt metal. I can see the old concrete floors covered in years of hard work and footprints..huge machines that amazed me…half naked calander girls (standard shop protocol) and I can picture granpa standing next to one of his huge machines with his darth vador mask looking thing on and sparks are flying everywhere…the smoke of burning metal tickles my nose…I loved hanging out at granpas shop. So many great memories include that bald man with the two strands of hair that he combed over…I only wish he and the PIT could have met. He passed away the year before she was born.

My moms dad, granpa hobbie, met the PIT though….I had never seen that man smile with the admiration in his eyes the way he did the first time he held the PIT. She was born at 1040am and granpa hobbie came to town to meet her by noon. He was amazed by this tiny little creature laying on my chest but picking her head up to look around. “she’s a curious one!” granpa said…ha…I bet he’s giggling in heaven thinking “told ya!”  because to this day the PIT is still the most inquizative person I have ever met!  In the 2 short months that my granpa hobbie had with the PIT they had developed an undeniable bond.  The PIT was the last thing that granpa hobbie saw that hot afternoon in June when he opened his tired eyes one last time and just grinned at her.  I will never forget the way the love that I felt at that moment.

See…two examples of positive male influences! Any not related to me?  Uh huh….

Second–I met this man only a few short days after my divorce.  When I was at my lowest point…all broken and shattered…not sure what I was doing or where I was going.  This was more than obvious to anyone who met me but yet this man, who I just met, took a chance on my crazy chaotic lil ass.  Why? I have no idea.  Whats the big deal?  By taking that chance on me, that man gave me my first opportunity to be independant.  Technically, he is my boss, but really, hes my guidance counselor, life coach, role model and dear friend.  When I need advise….Zel is there….when I need direction…Zel is there and when I need to be reminded to calm the eff down….Zel is there.  I dont know where the PIT and I would be if Zel hadnt taken a chance on me that day…..but we sure as hell wouldnt be here! I am grateful everyday for this man and what he has done to help get me and keep me on track.  He is a wise old man with endless stories and for some reason…he believes in me….and hes generally not wrong so I have to believe in myself…

Alright so any not assclowns that arent related to me or providing a steady income? Yup……

Third–This man Ive known since we were kids.  We went to school together and he lived down the street from me at one time.  We spent our summers hanging out at Stoners Park and getting into mischief.  He was once my boyfriend too. In fact, hes the only boyfriend ever to get me a mushy card and a gift (Ice Cube cassette tape…yes cassette tape…it was the early 90s!)  for no apparent reason other than he wanted to.  Now…years later I still consider him one of my best friends.  Ive always thought the world of Robert and I dont think hes ever known it!! Robert is and has always been such a genuine and true person that its infectious.  His priorities have always been straight, he’s loyal almost to a fault lol just like me, I cant really explain it but hes just good people.  (Plus hes hott…just saying) But now Robert is a daddy and it is the most adorable, admirable thing I have ever seen.  He has a little princess mafia! 3 little gorgeous girls that adore their daddy and ya know what? Their daddy really truely adores them.  THAT is a fathers love. That is what I want for the PIT someday.  Im so proud of Robert and the man/father that he has become.  I am truely blessed to have him in my life and truely amazed that he has stood by me over the years kinda boosting me up every now & then when I needed it. Thank you Robert~

Ah ha! 3 fine examples of not assclown men! There are even a few more but since my phone ate this original post and Ive just retyped the entire thing AGAIN on this PHONE Im going to cut it short…

PS- thx for the mention. I’m honored, and the feeling is mutual.
